Fieldwork

First-hand marine biology, conservation and research in the field.

Much of Rowan Byrne's work has taken place in the field — from marine conservation and sea turtle monitoring in Dominica to marine plastics research and the Howth Harbour SeaBin Project in Ireland. This section brings together documented fieldwork, project case studies, photography and research.

How this site documents fieldwork

Field experience, documented.

MarineCreatures.com documents Rowan Byrne's field experience through conservation project records, published research, monitoring data, original photography and independent verification. Where a claim is made about a project, publication or role, the source material is identified.

The site does not make undocumented claims about fieldwork, credentials or publications. Where independent verification exists — WIDECAST, the Institute of Water, Aberystwyth University, RTÉ, the Irish Independent — it is cited and linked.

Photographs are connected to the fieldwork they document where the archive evidence supports that relationship. Photographs without documented provenance are presented as marine photography, not as fieldwork records.
